Abstract:The article focuses on the study funded by the Dr. Robert C. and Veronica Atkins Research Foundation on the effectiveness of weight-loss diets and low-fat diet conducted in Israel. People using weight-loss diets, like Mediterranean and the Atkins diets, lost more weight than those who were in low-fat diet recommended by the American Heart Association and physicians. However, health warnings were issued on the use of Atkins diet, which is high in fat and protein.
