Research: Reflexology Reduces Symptoms of Low-Back Pain

Abstract:The article presents a research study stating that reflexology reduces symptoms of low-back pain. A group of 15 participants were randomly assigned to a reflexology-treatment group and a sham-treatment group to ascertain the effectiveness of reflexology in the management of low-back pain. Participants in the reflexology group received reflexology treatments and the participants in the sham group received a foot massage. The effectiveness of the treatment was measured by visual analogue scale.
