Abstract:The article discusses the different types of food allergies and appropriate tests for each type. Type I is common in children which occurs within two hours after eating, thus, radioallergosorbent (RAST) test of immunoglobulin E (IgE) is suitable. Type II develops due to lectin allergens which attack the IgE and killer cells. Type III occurs due to the overabundance of immunoglobulin g on specific food and binds with the food entering the bloodstream.
