Abstract:The article discusses the most common ailments associated with gum disease, as well as novel approaches to optimize oral health. Among the diseases associated with periodontal disease are heart diseases and stroke, diabetes, and premature and low-weight births by pregnant women. Adopting a lifestyle that includes a health diet, regular exercise, daily brushing and flossing, and visits to the dentist every six months, is the best way to avoid periodontitis. Many ingredients found in toothpaste are effective in controlling gingivitis and promoting oral health. These include coenzyme Q10, xylitol, hydrogen peroxide, lactoferin, folic acid, and squalene, as well as natural agents such as tea tree oil, green tea extract and essential oils.
