Abstract:Reports that researchers at Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey, sought to determine if there is any association between the serum concentration of sex hormones and severe symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Indication that the degree of hyperplasia increased with age; Observation that the only significant relationship between hyperplasia and hormone levels involved estradiol; Decline in testosterone levels with age.
